In the world of fibre deployment, clamps are essential, and heavily regulated. To get PIA and Tier 1 operator approval, clamps must be tested in combination with specific cable types. This has historically benefited two dominant brands who tie their approvals to proprietary setups.

Mountrel changed that.

Our Strategy

We identified the market's true need: flexibility. Many AltNets already have preferred cable vendors. To be truly useful, a clamp provider needs to integrate into multiple cable ecosystems.

We:

  • Collected clamp samples from a variety of OEMs

  • Paired them with a wide array of drop cables (Corning, Prysmian, Dexgreen, etc.)

  • Ran performance tests and secured PIA approval for over 10 combinations

Approved Combinations Include:

  • Hypo-cut LN749 with Corning Roc Drop / Commscope EZAXS

  • Hypo Clamp LN782 with Corning SST (4f, 8f, 12f)

  • 5mm Clamp LN748 with Dexgreen 1f/4f, Sterlite 1f, CBT Tails

  • 6mm Clamp LN748 with Prysmian FDC

  • 7mm Clamp LN48 with multiple ULW variants (Sterlite, BBC, Birla, etc.)

Market Impact

We topped the pricing leaderboard in 5 out of 6 clamp categories for a Tier 1 operator.

By offering a credible third option, Mountrel reduced costs and gave network builders access to compatible, approved solutions that don’t require overhauling their existing cable inventory.
