In a rapidly evolving telecom landscape, cost efficiency can be the difference between scaling a network and stalling growth. F&W Networks approached Mountrel with a common problem: high connection costs per customer driven by reliance on well-known but overpriced suppliers.

The market standard hovered around £20 per customer for the clamp and cable combo used in customer connections. We knew that with smarter sourcing and rigorous quality assurance, that figure could drop significantly.

The Mountrel Approach

We didn’t just look for cheaper alternatives — we built a better supply chain.

  • Supplier Vetting: We analysed products from seven different manufacturers, with a focus on physical durability, tensile strength, and flexibility.

  • Quality Testing: Samples were run through comparative performance checks, including cold bend tests and UV resistance.

  • PIA Approval: Once high-performing combinations were identified, we secured PIA approval for multiple cable and clamp combinations.

The Results

The result was transformative. By switching from legacy Tier 1 suppliers to Mountrel-approved alternatives, F&W reduced their per-customer connection cost from £20 to just £5

This unlocked capital to accelerate their customer acquisition strategy and invest in broader commercial growth.

Why It Matters

Too many operators pay a brand premium for hardware that is subcontracted anyway. By cutting through the layers, Mountrel created a direct link between quality and savings, without compromising reliability or regulatory compliance.
